Installing an AC charger: steps for the installer
Preparation, cable choice, protection and handover of an Autel AC unit up to 22 kW.
- 01
Measure the available capacity first
Check the contract and existing load before promising a power level. When in doubt, plan load balancing: it costs less than upgrading the connection.
- 02
Cable and protection
Size the supply cable for the chosen current and the cable run, and provide protection according to local regulation and the technical sheet. The sheet per model sits on our specification pages.
- 03
Mounting
The AC Compact and Single Charger mount on a wall or pedestal. The AC Ultra is a dual wall unit, the AC Ultra Street Charger is the public pedestal. Mind the cable length to the parking bay.
- 04
Network
Use ethernet where possible, wifi as a fallback and a sim card for sites without a network. Sort this out before you close the enclosure.
- 05
Connecting to the platform
We ship the unit configured for your OCPP url. On site you only verify the connection and run a test session.
- 06
Handover
Test a session with an RFID card, check the metered kWh and walk the customer through managing access and tariffs in their platform.
